A trust ladder, U0–U4
Trust on UFTA is earned, explainable, and revocable — driven by evidence, not relationship. The same ladder applies to providers, venues, events, and specialists.
We're here for the pin.
Never a marker, never a row in a table, never a number. UFTA exists for one reason: to help that family get found, get booked, and get treated like they matter. The scaffolding serves the pin — the pin never serves the scaffolding.
Too often, who gets discovered is decided by who can afford the rent on a storefront — not by who can cook, host, or serve. UFTA inverts that: quality, reliability, and trust are the things that get rewarded, independent of any single app, platform, or location advantage.
A neutral trade association running open standards, a transparent trust system, and shared rails — so vendors, caterers, walking tours, and venue operators can be discovered and transacted with on the merits of their work, regardless of which app a customer is using.
Consumer apps and partner platforms ride UFTA's canonical objects and Partner API. The customer chooses the app they like; UFTA makes sure the underlying signal is real, fresh, and fair. UFTA is the backbone — the apps ride on top.
Trust on UFTA is earned, explainable, and revocable — driven by evidence, not relationship. The same ladder applies to providers, venues, events, and specialists.
Scheduling Captains — location Hosts — steward a place on the ground. The locality a machine-run network structurally cannot manufacture: someone local who hears the issues and fixes them.
A private, evidence-backed way to report nonpayment, retaliation, unsafe conditions, or misconduct — and to recognize good stewards. Firm, fair, documented, proportionate, private by default.
Clean REST, JSON-LD context, an OpenAPI contract, and a published /.well-known/agents.json. Personal agents, partner integrations, and human apps read the same canonical truth.
Food is local. UFTA grows one metro at a time — seeding real supply, earning real trust, then replicating the playbook in the next market. Each metro is a facet of one national dataset, keyed on its airport code: LAS, SLC, PHX, and on. We're starting in Las Vegas (LAS).
So a new market isn't a blank page, UFTA seeds it with real local vendors drawn from public business records, listed at the most basic tier (U0 — Listed): name, area, category. Nothing more is implied. A listing makes no compliance claim, carries no halo, and shows no schedule until a real operator claims their pin and earns the rungs above it.
Presence is the signal; absence stays absence. And the listing is yours to take down — every record carries a one-click claim and a frictionless opt-out.
Food trucks, caterers, walking tours, pop-ups, venue operators, commissaries. The members at the heart of the food economy.
Scheduling Captains who take on-the-ground responsibility for a location: priority scheduling, on-site relationships, and the ground truth no remote system can sense. How hosting works →
The independent food economy doesn't run on food alone. Trucks need wraps, menus, and signage; kitchens need refrigeration and HVAC; everyone needs insurance, accounting, and legal counsel that understand mobile food. UFTA vets specialists on the same trust ladder as providers, so anyone can find safe, effective third parties without guesswork.
